Sean and I have been so excited lately as Brett has really been starting to communicate. We have been trying to teach him some simple signs and he occasionally does the “all done” sign when he is done with dinner. A few times he even said “alun” but won’t do it anymore. He has started pointing at everything which is really fun as it shows us more of what he is thinking and looking at. It’s super cute at dinner when he points at what he wants to eat. Sometimes we can’t figure out what he’s pointing at or what he wants which can be really frustrating. He understands a lot of the words we use and responds to them so we thought we’d make a list of all the words he knows
banana
milk
water
dinner
lunch
eat
food
sleep
nap
kiss
snuggle
bath
shoes
walk
look
peek-a-boo
i’m going to get you (in a sing-song voice)
Where’d he go (also in a sing-song voice)
He has been eating a TON lately! We took him to Olive Garden yesterday to celebrate our anniversary (3 months late) and he ate at least half a breadstick, tons of gnocchi soup, tons of my pasta, and apple sauce to boot. It’s really fun sharing all kinds of new foods with him.
We have successfully cut out our night nursing, replacing it with oatmeal and cows milk. Brett has done really really great and is down to one nursing a day (at 4:30 AM)! I think we’ll give that one more week before we cut it out=)
Here he is playing with the GPS
Climbing in the toy box
Watching a movie while Sean set ant traps in the bathroom
Pudding as a bedtime snack is a good idea!

He's getting so big. And it's really fun when you're kids start communicating because they you feel like you have some real company during the day.
ReplyDeleteHaha, he is so cute. And I can only imagine how adorable he looks doing sign language--baby sign language is the cutest thing ever!
ReplyDeleteLooks like chocolate pudding is a favorite! What an adorable little boy getting into all kinds of stuff around your home. A classic pose of him watching the movie! love, mom p :-)
