Faith of a Boy

Today Sean had his first residency interview, at the hospital where he was born! He went to the interviews and orientation in the morning and we met up with him this afternoon at the hospital. He said the interview went well and it was a lot of fun to learn about the program.
We had a full morning with 3 extra kiddos at the house followed by the hour drive to Santa Fe. After we met Sean at the hospital we headed to a nearby mall to walk around and play. We found a fun furniture store where we dreamed of the kind of stuff we want to buy someday=) There was a playground right by the mall with a trail so we spent a good amount of time there too. After that we all headed to the resident dinner. Sean and I had debated long and hard on whether to take the kids or not and ended up taking them. I think it worked out well even though we were the only family there.
The whole point of the story is now coming. After having a ridiculously full day with not enough sleep and too much excitement, Little Miss was kinda falling apart at dinner. She has also been a bit congested and we are struggling with her digestive system a little as we transition to whole milk. She threw up on me the other night and so tonight when I was rocking her off to the side of the table I recognized the signs early. She vomited just a little and we were able to keep it pretty inconspicuous. We cleaned her up with wipes right away and graciously thanked our hosts and left. As we were leaving we told Bret that we had to go because Alana was sick. He has been learning about prayer and priesthood blessings (a special blessing given by an Elder in our church, Sean is an Elder). Brett very quickly said “Alana is sick and needs a blessing!” We agreed that it was a good idea. I was mostly hoping we didn’t have any vomit in the car! Sean gave the blessing and stated that she would feel better and get the rest she needed by the faith of her family. She stopped crying about 30 seconds later and fell asleep about 3 minutes later. We arrived home safe and healthy and both kids are now peacefully sleeping in their beds. I am so proud that my little man understands God’s priesthood power and has faith that it can solve any problem. He teaches me so much! I know that it was his faith that healed Alana tonight!
