Halloween

We had some fun Halloween activities this year. I tried to have lots of crafts and such for our school days and we bought some pumpkins nice and early to sit on our porch. We decorated and listened to tons of Halloween stories on Amazon story time. I also pulled out all the fun Halloween books and we read those during school and throughout the days too. We carved pumpkins on the Thursday before Halloween. Papa and Mimi joined us and we had a great time carving, chatting, and eating. Brett's pumpkin was an oreo with skeletons arms through it. After we put them out and put the candles in, he was curious what would happen if he ripped the middle piece out. He pulled it out and the outline looked like a perfect ghost! It was so cool! 

Sean's work has been very very anti-Trump and his MA dressed as President Trump for Halloween. 

Sean always enjoys getting the power tools out for carving.

We finally put together these can storage things my mom handed down to us when she moved nearly 2 years ago! They look great and hold so much food!

My neighbor Kari and I decided to get together for a Homeschool Halloween Party. The kids all dressed in costumes, we played bingo, balancing eyeballs, and toss the bean bag. Then we had pumpkin shaped pizzas and graham crackers with frosting to make them look like bandaids. We ate candy, won prizes, and then the kids just had fun playing together while Kari and I chatted away =)

Saturday was Halloween and we had decided not to go trick or treating because our neighborhood isn't always super on board with public health things and the corona virus cases are so high. We were also planning to leave to visit my sisters family in Oregon on Sunday and we didn't want to take any extra germs =) The plan was to play games, get tons of candy, eat treats, and watch a Halloween movie. As Saturday came though Sean and I decided that it would be nice to just drive to Boise that night so the drive on Sunday wouldn't be so long. So we went into hyper packing mode. We got all the laundry done and packed, the house semi-cleaned, ate lunch, and even did a mini Halloween party before leaving. We played a game where the kids had to roll dice and if they got a 7 or 11 they got to pick a candy for their bucket. Then we did a lightning round for 5 min where the kids rolled one dice and they got to take as many pieces of candy as they rolled. They all got so much candy and had a lot of fun. Then we played a donut bobbing game =) The girls didn't like the powdered donuts I had gotten so they cheered on Brett, Sean, and me. 

After our little party, we loaded up the van and ran to the UPS store to do a return, stopped at my parents house to grab my moms jacket that she had forgotten, then dropped off Oreo at the pet hotel at petsmart. Then we were on our way to Boise.
