On Thursday morning Mr. Brett decided he was all done with the hotel room at 3 AM, we figured we might as well get on the road so we packed up and headed out at 4. We drove up to Utah and arrived around 4 PM, not too shabby with the time change=) It was really nice because he slept for 3 hours at the start of the journey and then took a 2 hour nap!
Brett remembered Grandma and Grandpa’s house and had a fantastic time playing with Elroy and the fish and the stairs. He even learned to imitate Elroy howling.
My parents spoiled Brett and bought him this new slide. I was planning to get him one later this summer but needed to wait since we just paid for a trip to Disneyland=) Brett and his cousin Kaity LOVED the slide. My sister Sam came down with cousin Kaity on Friday. My Grandma and all of us went to Olive Garden on Friday night.
Snuggling in Grandpa’s chair and watching a movie:
Saturday was my parents 34th wedding anniversary and we wanted to celebrate Easter and see family, so we had a big BBQ party. My dad made some delicious hamburgers and hotdogs and we made rice krispie treat eggs. It was so much fun to see so many people! My family has parties like this all the time, it’s so sad to have to miss them.
We did an Easter Egg hunt and Brett didn’t really get it. When we showed him there was candy in the eggs after it was all over, he understood what the point was. We should have showed him before we started the hunt.
Kaity completely understood and loved it:
All the older kids participated too, it was a lot of fun!
An entire chocolate kiss in his mouth!
Eating chips for dinner (I didn’t die and he didn’t either!)
I got to curl Kaity’s hair on Sunday and Brett and Kaity were only too happy to pose for some pictures.
The Easter Bunny came again after church and brought Easter baskets to these lucky kiddos!
On Monday, Sam and Kaity had to leave for Boise and we left on Tuesday so as a last excursion we went to the zoo too see my mom’s new office. Brett loved her fish tank and gave it a big hug! We walked around and saw lots of animals. Brett followed Katiy and laughed and ran the whole way through the zoo!
We went to lunch with my parents and Costa Vida, they have AMAZING chicken tacos=) Brett was starving and learned how to say “cheese” while we were taking this picture.
We left at 4 on Tuesday Morning with a much fuller van than when we left. Mr. Brett did great on the drive playing with toys and watching Baby Einstein and Cars. Such a fun fun vacation! Sean will go back to school on April 1 so we are still in vacation mode over here, but it’s nice to be home=)

Dad and I had the best anniversary ever! Spending time with our kids and grand kids was the best!
