This is the first year we have stayed in New Mexico for Christmas since we moved here. It was a lot of fun to bake and prepare for the holiday without worrying about flying or driving a long distance.
Brett and Alana love helping out in the kitchen. We made butter cookies, sugar cookies, and oreo truffle balls. Its really fun to have Alana want to be part of cooking now too!
Alana loves to be picked up, this picture is so funny because she so often climbs up our legs like this and gives the saddest faces when we can’t pick her up.
Licking the batter is always a fun activity!
MMM enjoying the fruits of our labors:
Cutting cookies:
Alana got in on eating the dough too:
Playing on the rocking toys while getting ready for bed one night:
Brandon, Michal, Brielle, and Lily came from back East for christmas. They stayed at our place the night they came since they got in so late. Brett was so thrilled to have cousins to play with and had a great time following Brielle around all week long. Michal had run out to get some yummy Albuquerque goods from Frontier while the kids watched some Mickey Mouse and Brandon and Sean chatted.
Mom and Dad P have been remodeling their house so we went up on the Saturday before Christmas to help decorate and to visit with everyone. Look at the beautiful floor, fridge, and cupboards! They are so beautiful! The kids all had a great time breaking in all the new stuff =)
Brett and Brielle enjoyed the garland part:
Their was snow outside!!
Alana thought it was interesting:
We attended our ward on Sunday and Sean performed a beautiful impressionistic version of Hark the Harold Angels Sing for the Christmas program.
On Sunday night we did a video chat with my parents and opened Christmas gifts from them. We were all incredibly spoiled =)
On Monday, we met Brandon’s family and Mom and Dad P in Santa Fe for the Children’s museum and some delicious Wecks.
Brian and Jill flew in to Albuquerque Monday night. We let them have our bedroom since they usually sleep late and we are EARLY birds because of these cuties. Blowup mattresses are so much fun!
Brandon, Michal, Mama Judy, Brain, Jill, Sean, and I all went to the Albuquerque temple to do some family names on Tuesday. It was a wonderful experience and especially helped us focus on the Savior for the Christmas holiday. Special thanks to Mom and Dad P for babysitting the kiddos!!
After the temple trip, everyone congregated at our house for some chicken quesadillas and music and dancing:
