Surprise Date

Monday Sean came home from school feeling particularly sick. He felt some severe pain in his abdomen, after the pain continued to get worse and we got some advice from the amazing Dr. Brandon, we took a trip to the ER. Sean never complains so when he was curled up in a ball on the couch freezing, but running a fever, I knew something was wrong. Luckily, the ER wasn’t too busy and we were only there for two hours or so. The diagnosis was a nasty viral stomach bug. The doctor gave Sean some pain medication and told him to come back if the pain continued or got worse. The pain came and went all week, but Sean was able to get everything accomplished that he needed to. By Friday morning he was feeling quite a bit better so I asked him if he had any ideas for our date. He said he did and that it was a surprise.

Usually I can get him to tell me what the surprise is but he was so good at keeping his secret. I got home from work at about 4:45. Sean looked pretty happy and said we could get started with our date any time. I wanted to wash my face and fix my hair since it seemed like it would be a special date. I looked in my make-up drawer to find some eye shadow since I wanted to look nice. It was not there which I thought was pretty weird. Then I noticed my curling iron was gone. I asked Sean if he had moved it and he said no so I assumed my sister had come to my house an stolen it (why she would do that I have no idea). I stopped worrying about it when Sean said to just let it go. We got in the car and headed up Provo Canyon. He said we wouldn’t be outside so I couldn’t imagine what on earth we could do up there. After we had been driving for 20 minutes or so I asked if we were going to Park City. He answered yes and told me about this cool place we were going to stay and how it was an early birthday present. We talked about how November is pretty similar to May in Park City because it’s right between mountain biking and skiing, so we got a steal on the accommodations. Although Sean remembered to pack almost everything including a swimming suit incase we wanted to swim, games, and of course my curling iron, he did forget the camera so I have no photographic proof of our lovely weekend. Here is a photo from the internet of the hotel though.

This wasn’t exactly how our room looked but pretty close:) We did have a little kitchen, a nice bathroom, a huge bed, and a gorgeous view.

We went to dinner at a yummy chinese place for dinner then went to our hotel where Sean gave me some flowers and the movie Alice In Wonderland complete with popcorn and birthday wrapping paper. We wen to Main Street on Saturday morning and ate breakfast at this posh steak house. It was fantastic!! It was so rich they didn’t even bring the ketchup in the bottle, they put it in a little dish, and the jams were in little individual serving size jars. We went to the Tanger outlet mall and did a ton of Christmas shopping then headed back to Provo since I had a baby shower to go to and we were having the missionaries over for dinner.

It was such a wonderful birthday surprise and I am now convinced more than ever that Sean is the very best most romantic, kind, wonderful husband in the world. Now I have to figure out how to make his birthday just as good:)
