This past weekend we journeyed up to Mom and Dad P’s house to do some Independence Day celebrating and enjoy some good family time! If you live in Albuquerque you really should consider taking the 1 1/2 hour drive up to White Rock to enjoy their carnival and firework show. This year the firework show was canceled because of the heat, but its a great show with relatively few crowds (I’m comparing it to Sugar House park in the Salt Lake area). The carnival starts at 10 at the LDS church. The kids get to go on a short parade then there is free popcorn, snow cones, games and prizes, and face painting. It is open to the entire community and is a ton of fun!
Here is Brett in the Parade
Mom and Dad P are always in charge of the snow cones:
I got may face painted:
Brett enjoyed helping Grandpa play the guitar:
We went on a bike ride with Grandma:
Brett got to sleep in Uncle Brian’s old crib! He wasn’t to thrilled about me putting him in here to get his picture taken since it wasn’t nap time.
Grandpa P introduced Brett to Cars for the first time! Mr. Brett loves to drive cars around the house more than anything in the world and getting to watch them on a huge screen was a dream come true!

Love the 4th of July! so happy you could share it with us this year =-) For the first time, they had root beer flavored syrup for snow cones and Darrell loved it! Brett definitely belongs in a parade =-) love, mom p
