We arrived at the temple around 10:30 for the Sealing Ceremony at 11. My parents were so kind and came up to watch Brett as well as Brielle and Lily. I heard the highlights of their escapades around Temple Square were the Christus Statue and the fountains/reflecting pool. After the Sealing while we were waiting for Eric and Natalie to emerge, we took Brett up to touch the doors of the Temple.
Here are some pics from my Dad’s phone of Brielle, Brett, and Lily while the rest of us were in the Temple.
We should have brought a double stroller, good thing the kids were happy to share=)
Here are the brothers, it was sad to not have Brian there. Eric looks so happy!
A photo of beautiful Natalie while the photographer adjusts her dress. I didn’t get very many pictures of the bride and groom because I didn’t want to get in the photographers way, and I was helping a tired, grumpy toddler.
Here they are as they walk out of the Temple.
Family waiting while pictures are being taken.
Natalie’s mom Jasmine put together these really cute little bags for the 3 older kids with little activities for the reception. There was a book, a train, coloring book, and two different kinds of stickers. The kids loved the stickers and wanted them all over their arms immediately.
Neil and Brandon and their families and us all got to the reception on time, which meant we were early. Eric and Natalie hadn’t arrived yet so we tried to get some pictures of the 5 grandkids together. We all have a deeper appreciation for pictures of multiple children smiling!
This was the best one we got! I bet the photographer got a better one though=)
Stickers!
Family photo.
Beautiful tables at the reception! There was a wonderful buffet with delicious food and desserts including a gelato bar.
Eric and Natalie cut the cake, it was pure chocolate deliciousness!
After they cut the cake, they started the dances. Brett was already past his breaking point and had been watching cars on the phone during dinner. When the music started we convinced him to come over and dance. He liked that idea a lot, but refused to give up the phone. After a song and a half, Sean pried it from his hands. He had tears for a few moments then got distracted by the fun dancing. He was so cute and insisted Sean dance every dance with him. I got in a few dances too=)
Kaden and Brielle looking adorable!
Our first official mommy-son dance. Brett saw how the other couples were dancing and insisted we do it this way=)
We ended up leaving around 9, I think. We were really sad to not see the couple off, but Brett was almost asleep on the dance floor and we had to journey back to NM the next day. He fell asleep on the drive home and even transferred without a peep to his bed.
On Sunday we drove back to NM. We left around 8 so at least we didn’t wake the little man up early. He didn’t sleep at all the whole 11 hour drive! And then on Monday he woke up at 6 again. He fell asleep on me about 10AM. It was cute and hardly never happens so I wasn’t complaining.
It was an absolutely beautiful wedding! Welcome to the family Natalie!
