Grandma Rocks and the Aviary

My parents took off the Thursday and Friday that we were there to party with us! On Thursday morning my Grandma really wanted to go to the Tracy Aviary. We all thought that was a great idea. Grandma had a radiation treatment at 11 so we packed a delicious lunch and met her at the park around noon. My Grandma has had bone cancer for a few years and it seemed to have disappeared by last spring with chemo. She had some scans done a month or so ago and they found 2 large masses in her spine so she had to do radiation. She had been feeling fine, but that day the tiredness and other symptoms started to kick in. She had a great time though, even if the walking was pretty miserable by the end.
So we had a delicious lunch of sandwiches and chips and carrots and apples and cupcakes. Brett and Kaity were thrilled to eat outside! IMG_6151-2013-09-16-20-40.JPG
The Aviary is inside the park so we walked right over to it. We even got a discount because I have a season pass at the Albuquerque zoo. Grandma loved pushing Brett around because the stroller helped her walk.

A great picture of the Brown family in front of Kaity’s favorite pink birds-Flamingos!

We couldn’t get Brett to put down his “Mimi Juice” (crystal light) for the picture. Poor Mimi must have been dehydrated that week because Brett stole her water every chance he got.

A great picture! I love that Brett is holding my Grandma’s hand and that everyone is smiling!
