nearly 5000 miles in 2 weeks! Part 3

On Sunday morning after the wedding we decided to head straight to Boise. We wanted to go to church, but felt like it was a bad idea to put the kids through a later car ride after an unfamiliar Sacrament meeting. We also needed to take Mom and Dad P to the airport so it worked out better to just get on the road. We got mostly packed up the night before and then I went to Denny’s with Mom and Dad P and got take-out for Sean and Brett while Sean slept in a little since he does most of the driving while the kids and I nap =) The drive from Oregon to Boise is absolutely gorgeous and it was a really smooth ride.

We arrived in Boise around dinner time. Sam and her family had gone to a birthday party so we were all alone to unpack and cook a freezer meal Sam had bought for us. We were glad to be out of the car! I got to go on a walk with my sister and her friends that night which was really nice after being in a car all day.

Alana was getting better and better at sitting up! By the time we got back to Utah, she was a pro!

We went to a fun playground on Monday and then Kohles. For Family Home Evening we helped Sam decorate for 4th of July and looked at a fun pop up 4th of July book. Then we showed Brett Nintendo 64. He was a huge fan!

After a lazy morning playing with Kaity, we headed back to Utah on Tuesday. We stopped at a yummy restaurant called Perkins (I think), poor Mr. Brett had an accident during lunch so he had to wear some little boxer brief underwear Sam had bought him the day before (when he’d had an accident while she was taking him and Kaity to the bank). They looked pretty cute, but I think he felt weird not having any pants on. All the travel was really affecting his ability to get to the potty in time! We arrived in Utah in time for some yummy Fazoli’s take out.

On Wednesday we went to Mr. Mack to get Sean some new suits for Residency interviews. He got some fantastic looking ones! I got to go grocery shopping all by myself which felt quite luxurious! Grandma Zaelit came out about the time my mom got home from work so we all headed to Kohls to look for family picture clothes. Sam and Jared arrived around dinner time just in time for some BBQ chicken salads. On Thursday we had family pictures. It was crazy with 3 kids, but we got some great shots!

After Family pictures we went to lunch with Eric and Natalie at Zupas. It was a ton of fun to visit with them and hear all about their adventures in home buying. We went back to my parents house and the kids had fun playing together in the water. Alana enjoyed watching, although her expression in this first picture looks shocked!

Sean was in charge of grilling my parents famous fajitas:

This is a random old lawn ornament that my parents have always hated! It is old and faded and has a hole in it. Brett thought it was hilarious and kept trying to bend over to be like the little gardener =)

My Mom’s friend Anna came over for dinner with her son Tyler. It was her Birthday that Saturday so we had a yummy chocolate cake. Brett and Tyler were both huge fans!

Brett loved my Mom’s chair and would insist on sitting in it no matter what. If anyone was in it other than my mom he would kick them out. If my mom was in it, he would just climb up on top of her =)
