New Years

The day after Christmas Lizzie had a hard time waking up. She got up and then couldn't find her bed so she fell asleep in the hall. Then she came and snuggled to me and fell asleep for a while longer. She doesn't sleep in my arms very much anymore and I really enjoyed it!

After she woke up, we got dressed and the girls had more of their giant lolipops. Sean had to go to work and the kids and I spent the day playing with toys and cleaning up.
I have started trying to remember to close the birds cage when I'm cooking, since Pecksy found her way to our pan of Mac and Cheese after lunch one day. Luckily it wasn't too hot!
The kids had a sleepover in Brett's room and they were still up talking and playing when Sean and I went to bed.
On the Thursday after Christmas Sean took Brett Skiing and I went to help my mom do a little packing in the morning. Sean and Brett went in the afternoon and had a fun time going on the bunny hill and such. I don't think they had time to go on the lift, but honestly I can't remember. It was a snowy cold day and I got a text from Sean as they were leaving but that the bus was delayed an hour. After a while he texted again that there was traffic backed up all through the canyon and that they weren't even going to leave the parking lot for a long time. Luckily they were still in the lodge parking lot so they could go in to use the bathroom and Sean was able to buy some more food to add to the things he had already brought. They ended up being on the bus for 5 hours! Brett was a trooper and said it was all worth it to go skiing. The rumor was that a car hit a moose and that is what caused the backup.

Brett decided on Wednesday that he wanted to spend his Christmas money on a hatchimal. We went to two targets and called several others, but came home empty handed. Brett was pretty disappointed but it was the day after Christmas and it was a pretty popular toy. We ordered it online and and we were excited that it was supposed to come on Friday. I changed the sleeves on Alana's new dress and now its one of her favorites.
We decided that we were going to finish a large space in the basement for my parents to live in and so we started cleaning it up and clearing it out.

Lizzie got her very first hair cut! She was so excited and so brave!

She also got a new carseat since her old one expired in December.

The Hatchimal kept getting delayed so on Saturday morning when we found out it was delayed till the following Thursday I called Target. They had one so I went to get it with the intent of returning the other one (which ended up in my closet for Lizzie's birthday)
My parents had ordered two storage pods in preparation for selling their house and needed help loading them. Mom and Dad P volunteered to watch the kids while we went out to help pack. I was actually really impressed with all we were able to fit in those pods.
After helping Mom and Dad Z we went home and delivered the Hatchmal to Brett. He hatched it right away and we were all thrilled that it was a boy.

Sean had to work on New Years Eve. Mom and Dad P came up and we all went to have lunch with Sean at the clinic. It was fun for Sean to show his parents where he works. We had a yummy kneaders lunch. Later that evening my parents came and our good friends the Saffrons came for some yummy chinese food and games. We had Korean Beef, Orange Chicken, and Egg rolls. And for dessert we ate tons of oreo cupcakes! Lizzie put on her best make-up for the occasion!

My parents took off right after dinner and then we played games and sang Greatest Showman songs until midnight. Steffan and BreAnna slept over so we had a fun morning chatting.
