Alana turns 7!

Alana is such a sweet wonderful girl and we all adore her. She loves art, legos, blankets, barbies, horses, the color yellow, and Oreo. Her birthday was the Monday before Thanksgiving this year and Covid restrictions prevented us from having a birthday party for her. She wanted to do a best cake wins where she draws a pic and then a cake is made to look like the picture. We decided to mix it up a bit and make 5 mini cakes so that we could each decorate and eat one. I found a cute little pan on Amazon that bakes cakes that look like mini tiered cakes. I made chocolate and strawberry cakes. Alana wanted the strawberry and I did chocolate for Sean and Lizzie =) On the Sunday before her birthday we spent the afternoon decorating cakes and the kids had so much fun! They went all out and spent tons of time on detail. Alana felt very special! We ate spaghetti, cake, and then watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory since we just finished reading the book to Alana at bedtime.

This one is Lizzie's cake, she was the only one we didn't get a picture of her holding her cake.

We had a nice Sacrament meeting on the couch and Alana opened gifts from Aunts and Uncles and Grandmas and Grandpas. Grandma and Grandpa Z drove out and watched Alana open gifts in the front yard.

Grandma and Grandpa gave Alana an Easy Bake Oven which she has been wanting for a very long time as well as a gymnastics barbie. Aunt Sam gave her a book about Belle and a horse pillowcase she loved. Neil's family gave her a hair salon lego set. Papa and Mimi gave Alana new perler bead molds, stained glass window art, and a puppy lego set. She was very happy and very grateful!
On Monday morning for school we did a normal reading and math lesson, then we did a fun science lesson with bath bombs. The kids each got to make their own flavor and color of bath bomb and we had so much fun! When Sean got home for lunch we opened up family gifts. Brett got her a drone, Lizzie got her a stuffed animal, Sean and I got her tons of safety pins, a babysitters club book, and an under sea lego set. We got Noodles and Company take out that night and enjoyed leftover cake.

We also made little pizzas in the easy bake oven and they were so gross! Haha, we will use our own ingredients next time. We have since tried a dessert and it was much better!

Here is Alana's birthday movie from this year!
